Public editing winds down, discussion pages remain open

Our thanks for all the contributions we received over the last four weeks. Your ideas, comments and edits will help shape the future of our city towards 2020 and beyond. Since 17 May, over six and a half thousand people visited the site. The contributions will now be reviewed by the Future Melbourne team to organise, refine and incorporate the wide range of ideas into the plan in the best possible way. Be sure to check back soon when we post more detailed statistics on the public consultation period. In the meantime, for further information on how we will measure the level of engagement please consult our strategy "From Consultation to Participation".

Please note: Whilst our discussion pages for each topic remain open, comments can no longer be officially considered by the Future Melbourne team.

From 17 May to 14 June we are engaged in extensive public consultation. During this period, any registered user can directly edit the draft plan. Consequently, the content that you read on the following pages may have changed since the commencement of public input. If you would like to view a pre-consultation version of the plan please see here.

We ask that any significant changes you make to the content of the draft plan are explained in the discussion pages so that all participants can understand why a change has occurred.

We cannot guarantee that the changes you make will appear in the next iteration of the draft Future Melbourne plan that will be promoted publicly - that's the nature of an ongoing collaborative debate. For an explanation of how we will measure the level of public engagement please see here.

Thank you for participating in the Future Melbourne wiki and contributing to our shared vision and goals for Melbourne in 2020 and beyond!

Carol Schwartz
Hi. I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Carol Schwartz. As Chair of the Future Melbourne Reference Group, I have been appointed by the City of Melbourne, together with the other reference group members to gather together from all concerned, passionate, and involved Melburnians, all the great ideas that are bubbling away out there. I will then pull them together and present them to the Councillors as a basis for formulating their strategic planning.   More »
